OFFICIAL WHITTLESEA TECH SCHOOL OPENING
On Monday, 3rd September, I had the privilege of attending the official opening of the Whittlesea Tech School with two of our student ambassadors, Anastasia Mitkoska (8I) and Simar Singh (10E). Both Anastasia and Simar have been part of the planning and development of the Whittlesea Tech School over the last 18 months. They have been involved in a range of events from designing a chat-bot, creating inquiry and research topics, working with students from other schools to solve some of the issues in the local area and running a maker faire for primary students.
Monday morning saw ambassadors along with students from other schools giving the Deputy Premier, James Merlino, a guided tour of the facility and explaining how it will benefit students from the city of Whittlesea. After the official opening we had the chance to chat with people from industry, local politicians and students from other schools, all whilst enjoying a delicious morning tea.
Epping Secondary College is an official partner school to the new Whittlesea Tech School, allowing all our students easy and free access to educational inquiry programs and technology. The facility features a range of innovative and creative spaces full of high-tech equipment. This will enable students to further develop their skills and knowledge by collaborating, ideating, innovating and investigating all whilst using a range of wonderful, high level technology.
